What is the best way to spend three days on the Island of Rab?

Day 1

Cultural and historical heritage with a selfie to remember special moments

Take a walk around the centre of the Town of Rab and enjoy its stunning beauty protected by the magnificent city walls that are over two thousand years old. Walk down its streets and visit the sacral art collection at the Church of St. Justine, then visit the Town's collection f stone monuments (cro. lapidarij) located at the Church of St. Christopher, where the valuable stone monument collection is displayed. Walking down Gornja ulica (the upper street), make sure to stop and visit the remains of the church and monastery of St. John the Evangelist (Cro. Sv. Ivan Evanđelist) and the bell tower. In order to get the best view, climb onto the highest point in the town, the bell tower of the Church of St. Mary (Cro. Crkva Sv. Marije) and take the best selfie. Enjoy the panoramic view from the Tower of St. Christopher (Cro. kula Sv. Kristofora), situated at the entrance to the Komrčar Town Park.

The afternoon is time for swimming

You can spend the pleasant summer afternoon swimming at the most beautiful beaches of the island. If you wish to remain in the proximity of the town, take a swim at the municipal beach located at the foot of the city walls and the Komrčar Forest Park. Here, you can enjoy the cocktails and the ambient music at the beach bar. Anther option is to visit the adjacent Frkanj Peninsula which is also called The Island of Love. It is situated opposite the Town of Rab, only 500 metres as the crow flies. For a complete experience, visit Frkanj by ferry taking tourists from the town port and the Škver beach. You will find several catering facilities with the accompanying services in the lush pinewood.

Sail towards the most forested part of the Island of Rab, the Kalifront Peninsula, hiding some of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic, ending with sandy beaches. You can set out to explore the peninsula and its beaches on foot, by bike or by boat.
Another option is to set out on a full-day tour by boats departing from the town port, offering a variety of different tours. The unforgettable experience of navigating the waters of Rab is topped up with the visit to the interesting and secluded beaches, with a special lunch on-board the boat.

End your day with a romantic dinner

Take time in the evening to go for a nice walk around the town, buy some local souvenirs and have a dinner ar one of the most popular restaurants in Rab offering local home-made dishes in a beautiful setting of the old town centre.

Day 3

Lopar is a sand paradise

Make sure to visit Lopar and take a swim at the largest and the most beautiful sandy beaches on the Adriatic coast. In addition to them, you will find here more secluded beaches for the ones looking for intimacy. Some of the most popular beaches are the Paradise Beach (Cro. Rajska plaža), Ciganka (FKK), Sahara (FKK), Livačina, with some less-known ones such as Stolac (FKK only), Dubac and Sturič.

A wide selection of tourist amenities for an active vacation

Lopar offers so many summer outdoor activities that sometimes it is difficult to decide what to choose. The recreation activities to choose from are jet skis, paddle boats, SUPs, kayaks, aqua park, aquagun, semisubmarine ride, scenic train ride, parachuting, boat tubing and a banana boat ride with daily beach animation programmes. There are also guided tours and excursions to the nearby islands of Goli otok (the European Alcatraz) and Grgur island, and the northern side of the island is designed for scuba diving.
