The traditional folk costume is usually worn on special occasions and at the weddings. The colours of the costumes are vivid, predominantly red, blue and white.

The traditional folk costume of Rab is colourful, elegant and interesting to look at. It was worn in the course of history and is worn today on special occasions and at the weddings. The male folk costume consists of a white shirt decorated with red details on the chest and the collar, blue trousers (bregeše) with a belt (kuhica). The sleeveless overcoat with one or two pockets (kražot) is placed over the shirt and basil (murtela) is placed inside the pocket. Men wear white woolen socks on their feet and traditional peasant shoes (opanci). Opanci were originally made of leather (remika). The integral part of the male folk costume is fesić, a shallow peakless hat with black cords dangling from the top of the hat. The female folk costume consists of a white shirt with wide long sleeves and the black sleeveless overcoat (kamižot) with a belt. The overcoat is tight in its upper part and is wide and bell-shaped with pleats on the bottom. The red apron (travesa) decorated with flowers is placed over the overcoat. Previously, women wore a white head decoration on the head, while today they mostly wear a red or blue head scarf (facol) made of wool, decorated with roses. They wear white decorative knee-length socks on their feet and leather peasant shoes (opanci) or sandals. They have a decorative belt around the waist, with a scarf (facol) under the belt.
