It is the European emergency telephone number you can dial free of charge from landlines and mobile phones across the countries within the EU. You will be connected directly to emergency services, including the police, an ambulance or a fire brigade.
In addition to the emergency number 112, national emergency numbers are still in use, as well. However, you can connect to the emergency services in all the EU member countries only by dialling 112.
