Ciganka
The Gypsy Woman (Cro. Ciganka) is the beach situated on the northern side of the Lopar Peninsula where naturism is allowed, but not required. It was named after a Gypsy woman from a legend according to which her body was washed ashore. You can access the beach on foot or by car, which you can leave in the proximity of the beach, in the shade of the forest, some 100 away from the beach. The bathers can sunbathe on the sand or the rocky shore. The sandy beach is surrounded by heather shrubs and the black pine forest. This is where you will find some interesting and peculiar natural shapes, such as sand pyramids. The bays of Ciganka, Sturić and Dubac have been designated as a protected landscape due to their geomorphological and botanical diversity. Due to its exposure to the Bora wind blowing from the north-east, Ciganka is popular among windsurfers.
