The Petar Nakić pipe organ festival

The pipe organ festival is performed on an extremely valuable historic pipe organ manufactured by the pipe organ builder Petar Nakić at the Cathedral in Rab. It is a rare instrument with only a few pipe organs made by Petar Nakić having been preserved and restored.

RARE AND VALUABLE PIPE ORGAN MANUFACTURED BY THE PIPE ORGAN BUILDER PETAR NAKIĆ (1694 -1769)

An extremely valuable historic pipe organ manufactured by the pipe organ builder Petar Nakić has been bringing together pipe organ players participating at the Petar Nakić Pipe Organ Festival in Rab for many years now. It is a very rare instrument as only a few pipe organs made by Petar Nakić have been preserved and restored in Croatia. In Italy, the pipe organ has been preserved in Ravenna and Padua.

SINCE 2007, THE PIPE ORGAN HAVE BEEN PROVIDING A UNIQUE MUSIC EXPERIENCE

The events related to this beautiful istrument at the Cathedral in Rab started taking place in 2007, when summer interpretation masterclasses were organised. The Festival takes place in cooperation with the Public Open University of Rab and the Franjo Dugan Society for the Promotion of Pipe Organ Playing Art from Zagreb. The Festival has also been taking place under the art direction of Mrs. Ljerka Očić, PHD in Art.
