The Visual Art Summer Festival in Rab is a sequence of exhibitions held in the Town of Rab from the beginning of June to the end of September, organised by the museum and gallery of the Open University of Rab. As part of the programme, the contemporary national visual arts are promoted, gradually focusing on the international cultural cooperation, predominantly through an exchange of exhibitions. The programme is presented as part of cultural and tourism products of the Island of Rab, promoting the exhibition and art gallery activities of the local community. The programme guidelines also aim to present Rab as a post-season holiday destination. The exhibitions take place at the Pik Art Gallery located at the centre of the Town of Rab, which is the birth home of a great local painter Gašpar Bolković Pik who spent most of his life in Germany, in the Town of Ravensburg. In addition to exhibitions taking place as part of the Rab Visual Art Summer Festival, other exhibitions are held at the Church of St. Catherine (Sv. Katarina) and the lobby of the Rab Cinema.
